This chest side table is the way that I like to show off my “stash” of treasures and keepsakes. It’s full of little surprises and treats that I’ve tucked into each corner and hiding in the cabinet. This is the “my space” that I call home.

First, you can break them because the drawer can close off the entire side and you end up with only a few inches of drawer space. Secondly, you can get them open while you aren’t looking and the only way to put anything in is to dig through a drawer-full of knives, coins, or any other junk you can find.

Chest side tables can be a serious problem if you’re not careful. If you can, go to a hardware store and buy a really good one. They are inexpensive, and it will take care of everything (especially the drawers).

The problem with having a chest-side table is that you can end up cutting your fingers or your skin. Not to mention that you could end up taking a knife into your own home, only to find that your family has been watching you since you were a kid. You could also end up putting your life in danger, or end up killing your family and friends. You can try to avoid a chest side table by keeping the drawer well-separated from your work area.
